About

My name is Tyler Despain. I’m an author and small business owner that living and homesteading on a small plot of land in Maine with my wife and children.

By trade I work in cybersecurity. In 2018 the company I worked for was sold, and the clients the new owner considered too small were left to fend for themselves. I started Physher to look after them, and I have been the Physherman ever since. Most of my work now is teaching organizations and families about the threats they face from technology.

Along with a decade of IT and cybersecurity experience from managing MSPs, I am ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity and have a bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services from BYU-Idaho.

When it comes to fiction writing, my wife is my biggest (and probably my only) fan, so I write fantasy and sci-fi books for her sake. She is my muse and if not for her I wouldn’t have a single finished book.

My fiction includes the novels "The Commander", "The Fox, the Mistletoe, and the Pomegranate", "The Ghost Warden", "A Course in Demonology", and "Voice of the Metaverse". The first chapter of each, and the whole of "Voice of the Metaverse", are available in Other Works.
